This is absolutely fascinating, and answers some of the questions I’ve been having as I struggle to learn jazz guitar as a middle-aged man. I was sort of classically-trained (but not on guitar) and I’ve struggled so much with everything sounding so wooden. The concept of “musical Impressionism” really struck me.

Superb piece! Thank you!

Thanks for the positive feedback. Appreciate it. Just to clarify, I don't mean to be critical of classical technique for classical music, but to point out that this technique isn't always 'correct' when applied to people like Baden Powell, and also playing without reflecting on the underlying harmony in this more jazz influenced music.

I love listening to John Williams 'Bach Lute Suites', and that totally works and sounds amazing, and I'd recommend people listen to that, but it doesn't seem as suitable to playing more modern music on the nylon string like Baden Powell.
